Copyright, publication permissions, CC BY 4.0, APC and waiver provisions, and the retention schedule are unchanged. Previously recorded assent and earlier agreement versions are not rewritten.

These prospective terms apply to an identified article first published by the Journal of Learnomics after the effective date, once the required authors or rights holders and the publisher have recorded their agreement. Publisher adoption does not constitute author assent and does not change the rights or licences of articles already published by the journal.

Publisher and article record

The publisher is IAIED, Singapore UEN 53487769M, 60 Paya Lebar Road, #07-54 Paya Lebar Square, Singapore 409051. The publisher’s authorised representative is Dr Zam, Authorised signatory. Contact editor@mylearnomics.com.

Before publication, the private agreement record must identify the manuscript and title; all authors and other rights holders, including any relevant employer ownership; the corresponding author; the approved final version and its file hash; any prior preprint and licence; third-party exclusions; the article’s fee and waiver terms; this agreement version; and each party’s assent or documented authority to act for that party. A submission acknowledgement or an unchecked template is not an executed publication agreement.

1. Copyright and permission to publish

The authors or other identified rights holders retain copyright. They give the publisher non-exclusive worldwide permission to copyedit, format, publish and distribute the approved article and its agreed public supplements, maintain accessible versions, and preserve the published record. They authorise the publisher to arrange indexing, DOI metadata registration and third-party preservation of this published material. They may continue to use, share and publish their work and retain their commercial rights.

Material corrections affecting scientific meaning require author review before first publication. This permission does not transfer ownership of research data, software, trademarks or third-party material. Separate rights or licences for these items must be identified.

2. Public licence for the published article

On first publication, the rights holders authorise release of the agreed article under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0), using its unmodified legal code. This permits reuse, adaptation and commercial use subject to the licence’s attribution and other conditions. The public licence cannot be withdrawn from compliant users. Retraction or later policy changes do not revoke rights already granted.

Third-party items excluded from this licence must be marked beside the item with their source, rights holder and reuse conditions. No additional non-commercial, no-derivatives, no-mining or no-AI restriction is added to the CC BY licence. Privacy, publicity and other rights outside that licence remain relevant. The licence applies to the article and expressly included supplements; private review reports, submission records and unpublished datasets are excluded.

3. Author and rights-holder confirmations

Each signatory confirms that they own the rights granted or hold written authority from the relevant rights holder, and that all authors have approved the authorship, final article and publication terms. Disclosed employer or funder rights, prior licences and contractual restrictions must be resolved before publication. Existing preprints and prior related publications must be identified. A preprint does not automatically disqualify a new journal article; the authors must have the necessary rights.

Authors must accurately report their work, give proper credit, obtain permissions for third-party material, and disclose funding, conflicts, relevant ethics approvals and consent for identifiable participant information. They must identify substantive AI use and verify citations and factual claims. An AI system is not an author, and human responsibility is not transferred to one.

4. Review and publication decision

Fully agentic editorial workflow with human peer reviewers (at least 2) and Council of LLMs as peer reviewers. The intended editorial board is AI-only; its published personas are not human scholars. The deployed pilot comprises submission-workflow software, a three-model council and the documented decision policy; the listed personas are not all separate deployed agents.

Acceptance requires at least two completed independent human reviews in the current round under double-anonymous procedures. Separately consented council reports are supplementary and never count toward that minimum. The council uses three Google Gemini variants from the same provider and model family. The publisher verifies and assigns human reviewers, handles conflicts, exceptions and appeals, and authorises final publication. See the editorial workflow policy.

These terms do not guarantee acceptance, a publication date, indexing, citations or a journal ranking. The applicable policy version and final decision record are retained. Appeals and integrity complaints may be addressed to editor@mylearnomics.com.

5. Article processing charge and waiver

The standard APC is SGD1,500 and the submission fee is SGD0. A full launch-phase APC waiver is offered for covered launch submissions, including the invited launch offer; no expiry date has been announced. The article’s fee terms must match the written offer recorded with its submission. A recorded full waiver makes the payable APC SGD0 and will not be removed because the waiver policy later changes for new submissions.

Record the standard APC, waiver and reason, final amount payable, and offer reference and date for each article. Charges and waivers do not purchase or influence an editorial outcome. No new charge may be imposed on an article without the authors’ prior express agreement. Any APC outside a recorded waiver is payable only after acceptance; the submission portal does not collect payment. See the APC policy.

6. Metadata, repositories and preservation

The publisher may distribute agreed public bibliographic metadata, including title, abstract, author names, affiliations, supplied public identifiers, publication details, references and licence information, to Crossref and indexing or preservation services. Authors may deposit the preprint, accepted manuscript and published version in a repository without an embargo imposed by this agreement; the published citation and DOI should be included where available.

Permission for the published material includes preservation copies, format migration and archive access when the journal ceases to provide access. Provider coverage is not promised until actual arrangements are confirmed. Private reviewer information and confidential submission material are excluded from public preservation deposits. Existing article identifiers must be retained rather than replaced merely to create a new publisher DOI.

7. Personal data and separate AI consent

Read the journal privacy notice, version
jol-privacy-2026-10-28-v2
, and editorial-record retention notice, version
jol-retention-2026-10-28-v1
, before providing assent. These explain the relevant services, processing, safeguards, retention and data-request contact. Public article metadata is intended to circulate internationally and remain part of the scholarly record. Where Crossref registration is used, the relevant public metadata is processed in the United States and distributed through public metadata services. Each affected person must receive the notice; a corresponding author cannot silently consent for an uninformed co-author.

Agreement to these publication terms does not itself authorise sending an unpublished manuscript or reviewer report to an AI provider. That processing requires separate, recorded consent. The current supplementary council uses Google Cloud’s global model endpoint; Singapore hosting does not establish Singapore-only model processing. Reviewer consent is separate from author consent. The licence for the final published article does not itself authorise confidential prepublication processing.

Published scholarly records and necessary rights evidence may be preserved long term. Private editorial files follow the adopted retention schedule and any documented legal or integrity hold. Contact the publisher for access, correction and applicable data requests. The publisher cannot guarantee deletion of lawful copies already distributed by independent recipients.

8. Withdrawal, correction and the scholarly record

Before first publication, an author may request withdrawal through the journal contact; authorship disagreements require resolution with all relevant authors. After publication, the publisher may issue a linked correction, expression of concern or retraction under its published policies, giving affected authors a reasonable opportunity to respond where practicable. A permanent notice and citation record normally remain. Removal of unlawful or privacy-infringing material is considered separately. Silent rewriting of the historical record is not authorised.

9. Scope and interpretation

These terms change no licence or ownership of articles already published by the journal. Each legacy work requires its own rights review and, where necessary, new permission. No website-wide label retrospectively relicenses it. CC BY 4.0 governs public reuse of an article licensed under it; these publisher-author terms do not alter that public licence. No waiver of non-waivable rights or requirement to give up ownership is implied.

The parties will first seek to resolve a dispute through the journal contact. This publisher-author agreement is governed by Singapore law, subject to applicable mandatory protections. This clause does not change the CC BY legal code.

Acceptance is recorded for each article

Each required author or rights holder, or a corresponding author with documented authority, must confirm the permissions, final version, third-party exclusions, prior preprint, fee/waiver record and receipt of the privacy notice. The publisher records its article-specific acceptance separately. Store the named parties, authority evidence, adopted terms version, approved final-file hash and assent timestamps in the private publication record. No author acceptance is inferred merely from adoption or publication of this page.

Publisher-adopted terms · effective 28 October 2026 (Asia/Singapore)Version: jol-publication-terms-2026-10-28-v2 Version note: Version 2 updates the referenced privacy notice to version 2 for the configured SendGrid workflow-email service.
